NEW PPP LOANS FOR TATTOO ARTISTS AND PERSONAL SERVICES
This upcoming round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is rumored to be more accessible to sole proprietors and independent contactors in the personal services sector, and more importantly the loans may be fully forgivable. Our professions have been marginalized by health regulators and ignored by politicians throughout the COVID crisis, and it has been the case even in regards to federal funding programs as well. It’s time our industry sectors receive the respect and assistance we deserve and so badly need.
The PBFC, in partnership with Adesso Capital, is now accepting Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) pre-applications for all Beauty & Personal Service sectors.
TATTOO SHOPS ACROSS CALIFORNIA ARE FORCED TO CLOSE ONCE AGAIN
The Regional Stay Home Order, announced December 3, 2020, mandates that if a region has less than 15% ICU availability, private gatherings of any size, personal services and other small business (except for critical infrastructure and retail) must stop operations and close down.
Once triggered, the order will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks. After that period, it will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. Learn more about it on the state website here.
What does P.A.C.T. do?
We aim to protect the industry by focusing on issues that threaten our livelihood as tattooers. Specifically we will be addressing legal and regulatory issues associated with unlawful shutdowns, CA AB5/Dynamex, State and Federal regulations on tattoo pigments, and licensure portability for all tattooers in California.
What is P.A.C.T.?
The Professional Association of California Tattooers is a 501c non-profit founded by tattooers to empower our artists and advocate for the fair treatment of the California tattoo industry. Our membership based organization will be a network of mobilized tattoo industry professionals that successfully lobbies county regulators and state lawmakers in an effort to elevate our craft.
